01

THE STORY

A magazine that writes its own table of contents.

Each drop is generated, not hand-collected. Agents scan what's trending in design and engineering, pull a repo worth knowing, surface one skill to practice, and spotlight an artist. My job shifted from gathering to editing: deciding what's actually worth a reader's attention.

02

THE MOTIVATION

Keeping up had become a second job.

Staying current meant a dozen tabs, three newsletters, and a feed that rewarded noise over signal. I wanted a small, opinionated digest that did the scanning for me and arrived already edited down to the few things that matter.

03

THE LEARNINGS

What the build taught me.

  • Curation is the product. The agents can fetch endlessly; the editorial cut is what makes anyone come back.
  • Format is a forcing function. Locking the issue to three slots forced hard choices instead of an infinite list.
  • Trust comes from a point of view. A neutral aggregator is forgettable; an opinionated one is worth subscribing to.

04

WHAT I'D DO DIFFERENTLY

Tighten the loop, earn the cadence.

  • Define the editorial voice before the pipeline. I automated collection first and spent longer than I'd like teaching it taste afterward.
  • Commit to a publish rhythm early. The system can produce on demand, but readers reward a predictable beat.
  • Build the feedback signal in from day one, so the agents learn which drops actually landed.

Architect of Intent

Designing for humans, engineering for agents. After 19 years extracting human patterns, I've pivoted from crafting static interfaces to architecting autonomous systems — building the logic that helps agents understand what people actually need.
